Gihan Silva is a versatile management professional with over three decades of management experience at reputed organisations in diverse sectors and industries including transnational higher education, management consultancy, international transportation and logistics, real estate and property development, hospitality and leisure, sports, insurance, fast-moving consumer goods, food and beverage, and so on. Over his varied career, he was engaged with leading local and international brands such as University of Lancashire, Monash College, Dalhousie University, Kandos chocolates, Lion Beer, Janashakthi Insurance, Porsche and Rexton automobiles, RPX Courier and Lions Clubs International. Gihan possesses expertise in strategic management, international business, operations management, strategic marketing, leadership development, corporate and marketing communications, brand management, marketing research, event management, supply chain management, strategic corporate social responsibility, societal leadership, as well as training and development.

As a Senior Advisor to Cognitio Services, Gihan plays a critical role in advising the senior management and management staff of the organisation regarding strategy, governance and human resources. His broad experience across various industries as well as transnational higher education enables him to provide contextualised solutions that enable the senior management and management staff to plan and execute actions effectively.

Gihan holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), UK. He is also a graduate of the Faculty Development Institute of Lions Clubs International. Gihan is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM) and a Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (MAAT). He has been an ExCo Member of the Sri Lanka-Canada Business Council and the Education and Training Chapter of the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS).
